Inspiration

I was born in Stavanger, Norway – close to the Atlantic ocean, beaches and mountains which in some way have become inspiration for my paintings. The wild, incontrollable nature – the living, coincidental and raw – are all ingredients in my work. Though in an abstracted expression, open for each viewer to see what comes to their mind and make each painting their own.

Drawing, painting and photography have always been an important part of my life. I started studying at 16 years of age to learn the craft on a deeper level. First three years in local schools in Stavanger, followed by two years at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, where I moved when I was 18. I, a small town boy, fell in love with the big city, and have now lived here for almost 30 years.
